Shirley A. Moore, 85, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 20 surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren. She fought a long battle with COPD/Emphysema.

She was born Dec. 5, 1930, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of William and Aurelia (Stram) Reuber. Shirley graduated from Prairie High in 1948 and entered the Air Force in 1949. She met Robert Moore in basic training and they married at Scott Field AFB in 1950. After 28 years in the Air Force and many overseas and stateside assignments, they retired and later moved to San Antonio.

She is survived by her two daughters, Ann (James) Lauder of San Antonio, and Kathleen Meikus of Huntsville, Ala.; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Bailey) Minihan of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jason Meikus of Huntsville, Kara (Paul) Minihan-Leavy of Milan, Italy, and Kelly Lauder of Los Angeles, Calif.; three great-grand daughters, Destiny Stevens-Minihan of Oklahoma City, Savannah Meikus  and Keira Meikus both of Birmingham, Ala. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Internment arrangements are pending and burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien with the assistance of St. Gabriel’s Church and Garrity Funeral Home
