Delhi is known for its vibrant and iconic markets such as Chandni Chowk, Sarojini Nagar, Janpath Market, Lajpat Nagar Market, and Kamla Nagar Market. In an effort to promote and showcase these markets to a worldwide audience, the government is developing a virtual market called “Delhi Bazaar.”
The online marketplace will bring together all of Delhi’s well-known stores on one platform, allowing visitors from around the world to virtually tour Delhi’s markets and make their desired purchases. The government plans to advertise the “Delhi Bazaar” portal as a means to encourage more people to explore and experience these iconic markets.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently attended the ‘Chandni Chowk Shopping Festival’ as the chief guest and highlighted the government’s support for business and industry. He expressed the government’s commitment to simplifying the system and providing opportunities for businessmen and entrepreneurs. Kejriwal believes that with the right support and simplified processes, India can surpass China in terms of business growth.
The ‘Chandni Chowk Shopping Festival’ was jointly organized by the traders of Chandni Chowk and the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI). During his visit, Kejriwal interacted with shop owners and praised their efforts in contributing to the success of Chandni Chowk. He also expressed his enthusiasm for organizing similar festivals in different parts of Delhi, bringing buyers and sellers together in a more interactive setting.
The development of the “Delhi Bazaar” virtual market is an exciting initiative that aims to showcase Delhi’s iconic markets to a global audience. By bringing the markets online, more people will have the opportunity to explore and make purchases, ultimately benefiting both the businesses and the city as a whole.
