Codee Secures €5 Million in Funding to Expand Automation Platform

Codee, a software development platform based in A Coruña, has announced that it has raised €5 million in a funding round led by Swanlaab Venture Factory. Existing investors, including Caixa Capital Risc, Unirisco, Xesgalicia, Armilar, and KFund, also participated in the round. This funding will enable Codee to expand its customer base and continue developing its platform for automated code testing and inspection, with a specific focus on performance.

Codee has already demonstrated its value proposition in the x86 ecosystem using Intel oneAPI tools, achieving up to an 18x performance boost for compute-intensive workloads in the C programming language. The company plans to extend its support to include C++ and Fortran programming languages, as well as the Arm and RISC-V ecosystems. Codee is also collaborating with the developer community to automate new checkers and enhance the Open Catalog of Best Practices for Performance.

Swanlaab Venture Factory brings expertise in helping tech companies grow their customer base and scale through a systematic market prospection and sales process. They will play a crucial role in supporting Codee’s growth and realizing the company’s vision in the coming years.

Automated code testing tools are becoming increasingly essential for companies as software complexity and velocity continue to increase. Codee’s solution focuses on performance issues, allowing early detection and saving developer time during the testing and coding stages. The company uses its innovative Codee Core Engine, which extracts conceptual features from source code and implements code checkers based on the Open Catalog of Best Practices for Performance. Additionally, Codee provides Coding Assistant capabilities to fix performance issues directly in the source code.

Codee’s platform has already gained traction in critical industries such as automotive, medical, electronics, renewable energies, and high-performance computing. This successful funding round contributes to improving customer confidence and trust in Codee in markets across the United States, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and Europe.

Codee’s achievements align with a larger trend of Spanish deeptech companies that are tackling complex problems with a software-first mindset. This investment round will support Codee in scaling up and executing its ambitious plans for the future.
