ESB Welcomes New Cohort of Graduates to Its Development Programme

ESB, Ireland’s leading electricity utility, has welcomed a new cohort of graduates to its prestigious Graduate Development Programme. This year, 80 graduates from various fields such as engineering, IT, HR, commercial, and finance have commenced the two-and-a-half-year programme.

The graduates will be placed across five different business units within ESB: ESB Networks, Generation and Trading, Engineering and Major Projects, Customer Solutions, and Enterprise Services. Throughout the programme, they will have the opportunity to work on challenging assignments and major projects that offer exposure to the diverse businesses within the organization.

ESB’s Graduate Development Programme is designed to recruit talented individuals who can drive innovation and support the company’s Net Zero by 2040 strategy. This year’s intake is the largest number of graduates that ESB has recruited in over five years, highlighting the company’s commitment to nurturing new talent.

Each graduate will receive a range of support throughout the programme. This includes individual mentors from their respective business units, IT equipment, and access to hybrid working arrangements as part of ESB’s smart working offering.

Sinéad Kilkelly, ESB’s Executive Director of People & Organization Development, expressed her pleasure in welcoming the largest cohort of graduates in five years. She emphasized the importance of professional and personal development within the programme and the potential for these graduates to make a difference in the company’s Net Zero by 2040 strategy.

ESB is also pleased to announce that recruitment for their 2024 Graduate Development Programme will open soon, inviting final-year students to apply. Further details and applications can be accessed through the ESB website.
